Who we are

DMV Permit Prep ("the app") is operated by 1000904733 Ontario Inc. ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy: support@gopermit.org.

What stays on your device

Your study progress — completed lessons, quiz results, streaks, missed-question review bank, chosen state and license class, and settings — is stored locally on your device. We do not upload it, and deleting the app deletes it.

The app has no account system. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the app.

What we collect, and why

• Analytics (Mixpanel). Anonymous usage events — for example which screens are opened and how quizzes are completed — along with device model, OS version, and a random analytics identifier. We use this to understand what works and improve the app. It is not tied to your identity.
• Ad attribution (AppsFlyer), only with your permission. If you allow tracking in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, AppsFlyer receives device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier) to measure which ad campaigns bring people to the app. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", this does not happen — the app works exactly the same either way.
• Purchases (RevenueCat and Apple). Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, our subscription manager, receives an anonymous user ID and your purchase history for this app so your subscription unlocks correctly and can be restored.
• Question reports and feedback (our database, hosted on Convex). If you flag a question as wrong or send feedback, we receive what you wrote plus context that helps us fix the problem: the question involved, your selected state and license class, app version, platform, OS version, and a content-version identifier. Please don't include personal information in the message text.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or health data.
• We do not show third-party ads inside the app.

Service providers

The providers above (Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, Convex, Apple) process data on our behalf to provide the services described, under their own security and privacy commitments. We share data with them only as needed to run the app, and with authorities only if legally required.

Data retention

On-device data stays until you delete the app. Question reports and feedback are kept for as long as needed to maintain content quality. Analytics and attribution data are retained per our providers' standard retention windows, after which they are deleted or aggregated.

Your choices and rights

• Tracking: decline the tracking prompt, or change it anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Delete on-device data: delete the app.
• Everything else: email us at support@gopermit.org to ask what we hold that could relate to you, or to request deletion. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California) you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; we honor valid requests regardless of where you live.

Children

Many permit-test takers are teenagers, and the app is designed to be appropriate for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above, and the app never asks for personal details. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us (for example inside a feedback message), contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means the updated policy applies.
